GLOCK's nDLC provides harder, more durable protection than previously used finishes. The nDLC finish is exclusive to the GLOCK manufacturing process. The nDLC finish increases protection against corrosion and scratches and improves the gun's ability to function in wet or adverse conditions. The nDLC finish will be exclusive to Gen5 pistols at this time.

The ambidextrous slide stop lever makes it easier for gun owners to quickly, safely and comfortably manipulate the slide whether they are left-handed or right-handed.

The larger opening of the flared mag well makes it easier to fit the magazine in the mag well, especially in high-pressure situations where fractions of seconds matter.

Removing the finger grooves improves the ergonomics of the grip. The absence of finger grooves improves the pistol's ability to provide a consistently comfortable grip to a wide range of consumers, regardless of their finger size and whether gloves are worn or not.

The new GLOCK Gen5 magazine comes with an orange follower and a floor plate that is extended at the front for faster magazine changes.

Every GLOCK Gen4 and Gen5 model comes with backstraps in two sizes each with or without beaver tail. The multiple backstrap frame allows users to change the contour of the grip to fit their individual hand size.

Glock Model 17l Semi Automatic Pistol With Case

The magazine catch of the Gen4 and Gen5 frames is reversible and enlarged towards the rear of the pistol. The reversible magazine catch is more user friendly for the shooter's range and allows them to exchange the catch on the left or right side of the pistol.

The Gen4 and Gen5 have a Rough Textured Frame (Gen4 RTF) surface designed to improve grip traction, without being too aggressive. It is present on the frame and also on the interchangeable back straps.

As of 6/21/22, GLOCK will ship all MOS pistols with a polymer cover plate instead of the metal plate.

Glock 34 Concealed Carry - Okay, so I decided I wanted to get a Surefire X400 for my carry gun. This is down the road because there is nothing wrong with my current holster, but eventually my holster is going to crack as I wear it all day every day, and I plan take that opportunity to update Gen 5 MOS with red dot . And put X400 on it too.

My current carry gun is a G19, but I was looking at pictures of G19s with X300/400 lights and the problem is obvious:

Glock 34 Concealed Carry

Glock 34 Concealed Carry

I see no reason not to go ahead and get a G34. It will be the same profile either way.

If you want to use that length you could always go with Roland. G19 + threaded barrel and comp

I prefer the shorter slides, they seem to ride faster to me. This is also why I like 124 NATO type ammo in my 19.

I don't care about it. My state has open carry and I have 43 for states that don't. I'm just wearing a t-shirt over it, to hell with a print. Whatever.

Why do you only get shorter light? The extra speed will do you nothing w/ today's empty points. All you get from the 34 is a larger field of view - something you don't need if you go for the RDS.

Canik Iwb Holster

I still felt that the G34 with the slower light would pull than the G19 with the same light.

The size of a G34 is the same size as a 1911. You are no crazier than the men who carry them. Maybe the light and rmr add a bit. But the gun itself is not crazy.

Buy quality carry gear and you can hide almost anything. In CCW my HK USP45 or my Glock 34 in Raven Phanton kydex holsters.

Glock 34 Concealed Carry

I'm still sad that they stopped making the phantom. That's what I have now and I have no idea what to replace it with. I have a concealed mag carrier that I had to remodel myself to make it work halfway, and I won't be giving them my business again if I can help it.

The Glock Encyclopedia Volume 2: Sizes, Models, And More!

G34 is awesome just like the G17 I don't see any problem with the setup. Yes, the sight is useless with a red dot but if you have Surefire long lights why not. That has always been a sore spot for me with the Surefire WML they are just too long.

It can be done. This is my G34 rig w/ X300. Spare mag is a 24 round factory magazine in a DSG Koala carrier.

You and I are both men. I have one of the injection molded G19 holsters from Bravo for OWB and it's pretty good though.

Speaking of Phantom, I have a phantom G17 lying around. The RCS Perun is a much better holster.

What I've Learned After Carrying A Glock 19 For 4,992 Hours

Dang the things I miss. Well that's one more thing I have to buy before the boogaloo starts.

I might hide this time if I can find one that meets the preferences I want. I got a Kramer horse hide for my G43 with a matching stock carrier and it is NICE. I have no doubt that it will last.

3) These particles can cause injury when they shoot from a hold. With a comp, you only get hot gas in the face, not shrapnel.

Glock 34 Concealed Carry

4) Once you port it, you must replace the barrel if you no longer want it.

Glock 17/19 Conceal Carry Kydex Holster

I carry a G34 with a +2 mag extension almost every day in a Don Hume OWB leather holster. I never felt it was too big or too heavy. I usually wear a light button up shirt without a button up over it. I also carry 2 extra mags with +2 extension. I sometimes carry a G19. The G34 is my biggest competition handgun so it's only natural for me to carry the best and most comfortable thing with it.

Not crazy at all. 34 was my virgin concealment gun and it took me a long time to have an idea of successful concealment and before I applied x300Us to everything or the modified AIWB. It wasn't as hard with a 4:00 IWB. I think that first choice is why I never needed to carry small guns. I still carry a Roland or 34 with the x300u every day.

I bought a VELO holster for my 34 and have been carrying it for the past three weeks. I usually carried shorts and a tee without question. A great holster makes a lot of difference.

I carry a solid Glock 35 slide IWB (same size as a 34), which isn't much different than carrying a 1911 in length and height.

G34 & G19. Do You Prefer A Full Size Or A Compact?

I'm not saying a 34/35 is too big to carry but a 1911 is slim enough to make it much more comfortable even though they are the same length

Now I think about it too. I didn't like the 34's I shot before but considering my trigger time on a 19 vs a 34 it's not really fair. I also have an X300U so...

I shot my comped 19 back to back with my 34. The 34 is smoother. The 19 is faster, even with a comp, because of the load needed to make the comp useful.

Glock 34 Concealed Carry

Well that makes my decision easy now. Do you think even 34 would make a difference?

How To Choose A Ccw Handgun

For me longer slides like the 1911 and Glock 35 are more comfortable because they get the muzzle over my hips, weight is distributed along the length of the slide rather than the muzzle - that's what happens with the Glock 19/23/22 carried in Same. present

Also, the 34/35 slide is hinged at the top against the square slide corner of the Glock 17/22.

The only pistol that is so tolerable is the CBI strong side of my 1911 and my Glock 35.

All your arguments about double stack vs single stack are irrelevant because I don't have the ability to draw an IWB anyway. I got rid of that nonsense around the same time I traded my tight T-shirts for old man pocket Ts. It's OWB or nothing these days.

Ccw, Leather & Kydex Holsters, Duty Gear

In a striker fired gun ~4" is the longest barrel length I'm willing to deal with for concealed carry. In a Glock, a G19 is the longest grip I'm willing to deal with.

A full size 1911 is a different beast. Despite the weight they carry well as long as the holster/belt supports it properly. The shape of the 1911 is completely oval and relatively thin. Glock is a...block as they say.

I have several X300's but this is why I bought an XC1B for my Glock 19. It doesn't make sense to carry a compact pistol with a weapon light that adds to that length and range. The X300s live on my carbines and home defense pistols.

Glock 34 Concealed Carry

300 lumens is enough for CCW and carrying the gun is incredible. I honestly prefer the switch and beam pattern for a carry gun as well.

glock 34 competition

glock 34 competition

Glock 34 Competition - Here's what you need to remember: The Glock 34 Generation 5 is probably the best Glock you can buy in 2019. The Glock 34 Generation 5 looks better than the Glock 34 Generation 4 due to the improved fifth generation trigger and barrel. The extended barrel and slide make shooting easier and more accurate than other 5th generation Glocks.

The 9x19mm Glock 34 5th Generation is the latest in Glock's "expanded" series of slide pistols. It was originally designed for competition, but has also been used by police and military teams who evaluate the shooting performance of the Glock 34 over other Glocks. This has interesting implications for the future of Glocks as it is the only fifth generation long slide model.

Glock 34 Competition

Glock 34 Competition

The Glock 34 is the first competition model of the Glock 17L. The Glock 17L packs a 6-inch barrel into a 9.5-inch-long frame. Although it has seen some use on the competition course, the slide hangs almost two inches from the end of the frame, making the balance of the pistol awkward and awkward, so it may be "too much Glock" for many people.

Jw2 Combat Master Package

The Glock 34 reduced that by half an inch, bringing the overall length to 8.8 inches, with the barrel shortened by the same amount. By reducing the size, it is better balanced and proportioned, making it more practical to cover.

As a result, the Glock 34 was adopted in part by tactical teams who intended to use the Glock 34 as their primary weapon system in confined areas, in part because of its longer barrel and better shooting characteristics. French special forces are known to use the Glock 34, and according to the Glock website, some SWAT units also use it.

Perhaps due to the popularity of the Glock 34, Glock has produced similar "long slide" versions for the Glock 41, 40, and 35 in .45 ACP, 10mm Auto, and .40 S&W. However, Glock only produces the fourth generation Glock 41, 40 and 35, which have not been updated to fifth generation standards. Only fifth generation Glocks are chambered in 9x19mm.

This could indicate that Glock is following market trends and focusing on 9mm instead of offering a wide range of calibers. This makes sense, as many police departments and federal agencies are transitioning to 9x19mm for specialty calibers such as .40 S&W and .45 ACP as well as .357 SIG as 9mm ammunition technology improves.

Glock 34 Gen3 California Legal 9mm

As such, the Glock 34 Generation 5 may be the best shooting Glock you can buy in 2019. Thanks to the fifth generation trigger and barrel improvements, the Glock 34 5th generation shoots better than the Glock 34 4th generation. With extended barrel and slide. It shoots better and more accurately than other 5th generation Glocks. In the era of pistol optics, the benefits of a longer sight radius are diminishing, but longer slides and heavier barrels are always useful when descending. And for many users, the Glock 34 has just the right amount of extra length.

Charlie Gao studied political science and computer science at Grinnell College and is a frequent commentator on defense and security issues. This article first appeared last year. Meet the Glock 34: Glocks have historically been one of the most popular firearms in competitive shooting. They offer excellent adjustability, incredible reliability and have become almost a standard in the shooting sports.

The Glock 34 has a few modifications that make it stand out as a competition firearm. Some might say it was made for shooting sports. The question is whether it is worth buying even if it is not competitive. Read on to learn more about the Glock 34.

Glock 34 Competition

The first thing you notice about the Glock 34 is the size, which is a bit goofy looking for Glocks. The 34 has an almost ridiculous eight inches and change. Everything else is very classic Glock design. I have to say it, even if it seems a bit silly

Taran Tactical Modified Glock 34 Gen 3 John Wick 23 Rd 9mm Pistol

I like the look anyway. Well, mostly. I'm not a big fan of the top slide being cut off. I understand his intentions, I just don't like it.

Of course, this change in slide and barrel length is not a meaningless change. With a longer barrel (5.3 inches), you will see incredible accuracy from this pistol. On a really good day I could mark the target in sub 1 inch groups but averaged 2 inches at 25 yards. Not bad! If you enjoy shooting competition, the Glock 34 is sure to be a killer. After I put the red dot on it, I found it to be very laser-like.

Recoil is a bit soft, even for a Glock. Compared to the Glock 17 (34 full size, smaller version), the recoil is less and it is much easier to get a clear shot, so the next shot is faster. This inability to recoil sets it apart from shooting sports.

One thing I don't touch on my Glock 34 is using it as a carry gun. It is too big and very awkward to carry, especially as a concealed weapon. I knew there was no point in hiding it, but I had to make sure. I wouldn't use the 34 as a carry gun under any circumstances. The outer waistband is fine, but I'm not interested in wearing it loose.

Glock 34 Or 35 With Our Dlx Competition Package And Rmr Cut

Everything else about this pistol is classic Glock. Looks, performance and reliability are what you expect. The Gen 3 is a little more expensive at $630, but if you're a competitor, it's worth it.

I don't race often, but I still like the Glock 34. It's fun to be accurate without too much effort. It's not really a concealed carry option, but it's not. It's designed for accurate shooting, and it does it brilliantly.

Richard Douglas is a longtime shooter, outdoorsman, and technologist. He is the founder and editor of Scopes Field Magazine and a columnist for The National Interest, Cheaper Than Dirt, Daily Caller, and other publications. Gaston Glock decided to design a lighter, more ergonomic and higher-powered handgun. military personnel. In the 80s, he invented the Glock 17 (so named because it was his 17th invention). The polymer-framed "actionable" pistol soon became the standard weapon of most law enforcement agencies and would have done the same if the US Army had tested it in 1986. our soldier. However, this did not happen and the Beretta 92 (M9) took its place in history. We share our thoughts on the Glock pistols we have in stock and as an example of the best quality Glock pistols we offer a fully custom race Glock 34 for only $3000. .

Glock 34 Competition

In my humble opinion, Glock stocks have four weaknesses: the sight, the trigger, the slide, and the control rod. The trigger is NOT the main downside, it's an average trigger for an above average firearm... But we'll get to that in a minute. But the landscape is stupid. The white semi-rectangle of the rear sight draws attention away from the front sight support, which is the opposite of what the sidearm wants. "Gunfight, a sneak peek". That's not a bad thing, because an experienced shooter doesn't need to use pistol sights in most cases, and we always go for a night scope. The sights we put up at the Glock build competition are Trijicon suppressor height night sights (note the front post) with blacked out dots on the rear. The height of the suppressor allows them to be seen with our Trijicon RMR red dot scope. Compared to the Sig SRT in our Best Handguns article, the trigger is long and heavy. A good polish, pre-travel mod, and/or a $20 trigger guard can make a huge difference, so it's not a big deal. Add a spring kit and it's even better. If you want one of the best triggers available for any pistol, you can easily get one of our fully adjustable triggers like the Glock Custom Phantom Adjustable Trigger at www.rockyourglock.com. The control rod is polymer, weak and cheap. The spring force is also bad. A low capacity stock spring allows the Glock to recoil light loads but increases felt recoil. We believe polymer guide rods are more likely to cause damage than stainless steel or tungsten alternatives. Heavier springs and guides

glock 34 competition upgrades

Glock 34 Competition Upgrades - When Gaston Glock set out to create a lighter, more ergonomic, and more powerful pistol for military use in the 1980s, he came up with the Glock 17 (so named because it was his 17th invention). The polymer-framed "safe action" pistol has become the standard weapon of many law enforcement agencies in one way or another, and if it had been in the US Army's pistol tests in 1986, it likely would have been in our military as well. However, this did not happen, and the Beretta 92 (M9) took its place in history. We'll discuss our thoughts on stock Glock pistols and present our fully customized competition-ready Glock 34 at over $3,000 in parts alone as an example of the highest quality Glock-style pistol you can build. .

In my humble opinion, the standard Glock has four flaws: the scope, the trigger, the slide stop, and the guide rod. The trigger is NOT a major drawback, it's just a larger than average firearm trigger... But we'll get to that in a minute. But the images are bleak. The white semi-rectangle on the rear sight minimizes the front sight, which is the opposite of what you want on a side sight. "Shoot, fly." It's not that bad, since the experienced shooter doesn't need pistol sights in most situations, and we always switch to night sights anyway. The sights we installed on our Glock build are Trijicon silenced night sights with blacked-out rear dots (keeping focus on the A-pillar). The silencer height allows them to be tracked using our Trijicon RMR red dot sight. The trigger is long and heavy, especially compared to something like the Sig SRT from our “best” gun article. It's not a big deal either, as a good polish, pre-ride mod, and/or a $20 launch strip can make things much better. Add a spring kit and it's even better. If you're looking for one of the best triggers on any pistol, you can easily get one of the drop-down, fully adjustable triggers like the Phantom Adjustable Trigger at www.rockyourdlock.com that we included in our order. Glock construction. The guide rod is polymer, weak and cheap. Spring is also weak. The underspring allows the Glock to handle lighter loads, but increases felt recoil. We believe the polymer guide rod is more prone to failure than the stainless steel or tungsten version. A heavier spring and guide rod, like the ones we used in our Glock design, will also significantly reduce recoil. If you're using a silencer, it's easy enough to swap out a lighter spring to keep the silencer/firearm working properly. We used a Glockmeister tungsten recoil spring with an 18-pound spring for a custom Glock 34 3-pistol model. Finally, stop the slide. I think this is a weak point in the mechanical design of the gun itself. Thrust is weak and relies too much on a small flapper and a relatively weak spring. Although I have personally had to use a Glock pistol to protect myself in a life or death situation, the bolt stop failed and locked the bolt after one shot (Murphy's Law). Fortunately, my shot saved my life. It would also be easy to fix (tap, stand, bump) if you need to fire more rounds. But all machinery is prone to failure, all machines have weak points, if it can happen, it definitely will, and that's probably the only flaw in the Glock's design. It is also completely preventable with proper maintenance (spring replacement), cleaning and inspection of firearms. There really isn't an "easy fix" for bolt lag failure, but it's not a big deal as long as the springs are replaced as needed (which is part of routine maintenance). We used the Rock Your Glock Extended Bolt Delay for our build.

Glock 34 Competition Upgrades

Glock 34 Competition Upgrades

When we wrote our "best" pistol article, we knew it was only a matter of time before we devoted an article to the Glock. When our friend at Chaos and Pain Development (www.chaosandpain.com) contacted us and asked who could make him the best Glock pistol possible, the answer was simple: we can. We built him a Glock 34 from the very best individual components, none of which are stock Glock, and took the opportunity to compare and match our build to OEM Glock pistols. Most of our guys own Glocks, many carry Glocks, and one even shot competitively on a Glock hobbyist team and is a certified Glock gunsmith (he did all the work on this build). Glocks have come a long way since their original invention and now come in all shapes, sizes and calibers. Many of the models offered are actually very different animals, but the general mechanics and features of all Glock pistols are similar enough to effectively describe where the general information applies to all.

Signature Owb Holster

Glock really changed the game in several areas, sending firearms manufacturers into a frenzy trying to reproduce similar performance. The polymer frame made it much lighter than the competition, which is a huge plus for those who regularly carry sidearms. For our build, we chose the Lone Wolf frame, which is built to Glock specs but is not a Glock frame. The grip profile is a little different, we've changed it even more by adding a special shade and slightly extruding the magazine release area. Our frame was painted in Twin State Hydrographics Multicam Camo. The number of moving parts and parts that go together in a Glock pistol is very small. The relatively small number of parts also makes it very easy to disassemble and assemble. This makes it much easier to clean and maintain than previous semi-auto pistols, and like any other mechanical device...fewer moving parts means less chance of failure. Another such change that has received a lot of attention is the grip angle. This mainly affects the angle of holding the wrist in the sagittal plane when firing a pistol. It's a completely different "feel" than shooting, say, a 1911. model pistol, so if you are used to shooting it, you may need to adjust the grip and/or wrist angle slightly. Whether you like Glock pistols or not, the grip is more ergonomic than most semi-auto predecessors. Another aspect of the handle that is often overlooked is the oval shape with flat sides. This allows the experienced shooter to know the horizontal orientation of their pistol without using a scope. Members of our team very rarely use a scope when shooting a pistol at close range, and "feel" or "muscle memory" accuracy is much easier to master with a Glock precisely because of the shape of the grip. For this reason, some of our practice pistols do not have a sight at all. A pistol with a rounder grip makes it difficult to determine horizontal orientation by touch alone. The only downside to the handle design is the less aggressive texture. There is a chance of losing the solid purchase of your firearm when water, dirt or body fluids are added under adverse conditions. Fortunately, the point handle is common, simple, and effective in these situations.

One of the huge advantages of Glock is the ability to customize it to your needs and the ability to purchase aftermarket parts. In addition to the massive popularity of this pistol, its relatively simple design and few moving parts have led to a huge market for custom parts. This is great, in our opinion, because each Glock pistol can truly be customized to the owner's specific needs. In addition to the polymer handle for added safety when purchasing, we also use and recommend several other replacement parts. Here is a list of the custom parts we used in the three-pistol Glock 34 build, in approximate order of importance: self-contained stainless steel or tungsten guide rod (Glockmeister tungsten recoil spring assembly), night sights (Trijicon night sights). with altitude silencer). , white front post, blacked out stock), trigger components or full liner triggers (Rock Your Glock Phantom adjustable trigger), threaded barrels (KKM Precision threaded long barrel with ZrN coated compensator from S3F Solutions), magazine extensions (contest magazine's Arrendondo Extensions), Spring Kits (Rock Your Glock Competition Spring Kit, Marine Spring Cups, Lone Wolf Lightweight Spring and 6 lb. Spring) and Extended or Modified Controls (Vickers Tactical Extended Mag Release, Aluminum Timberwolf ” kit with extended magazine, Rock Your Glock with extended magazine) slide and slide delay). A few large companies also offer custom Glock pistols that improve aesthetics and/or functionality, e.g.

One small problem, even when the screws were completely out, the grip was very tight, this was easily solved, I added some alum. Rubber bushings and washers over long screws. Perfect fit right now.

My holster shipped quickly and arrived earlier than the USPS tracker said. My G34 with RMR scope and suppressor elevation sights fit like a glove. Smooth strokes with perfect fall and slope. I regret that I wasted money on two other holsters before I found my Black Scorpion.

I really love my holster. Easy adjustment to hold on the go. Excellent value. Thanks Black Scorpion 🦂. The Pro Heavy Duty Competition Holster Belt Mount will only work with belts up to 1.5 inches in length. We recommend pairing it with our Heavy Duty Professional Competition Belt

The grip is very well made, the anodizing looks great, the finish of the holster is crisp. The retention is a little lacking, I wish it had a tooled retention system instead of a tool, but that's me. Thanks BSO

Unfortunately, I use a Leupold Deltapoint Pro and this scope comes with stock sights that are .485 inches longer than average. The top of the holster has quite a bit of rubbing. I've been able to holster to the point where it's barely noticeable. I noticed the other day, after having this holster for about 10 months, a crease about an inch long where it's almost ready to split the kydex. The top quarter of an inch has already split and I have a feeling the rest will fall off in time. I've already ordered another carbon fiber holster, but it would be nice to see the scope notch go up a bit more. The Pro IDPA holster belt attachment has two small tabs that can be removed to accommodate a 2" belt.

The ride height of this holster meets IDPA regulations. We hate to limit the angle/height adjustment of our holsters, but unfortunately this is the case with these models.

The retention of this holster can be adjusted to the point where you can't pull the gun out of the holster, but we obviously don't recommend it.

Apparently this is for IDPA, but the belt mount is designed for a double thickness belt, which IDPA doesn't actually allow. As a result, the holster does not stay in place and falls out. Honestly, the IDPA would be nice to have a paddle holster. The gun holds up well though. No complaints.
