Glock 34 Concealed Carry - Okay, so I decided I wanted to get a Surefire X400 for my carry gun. This is down the road because there is nothing wrong with my current holster, but eventually my holster is going to crack as I wear it all day every day, and I plan take that opportunity to update Gen 5 MOS with red dot . And put X400 on it too.
My current carry gun is a G19, but I was looking at pictures of G19s with X300/400 lights and the problem is obvious:

I see no reason not to go ahead and get a G34. It will be the same profile either way.

If you want to use that length you could always go with Roland. G19 + threaded barrel and comp
I prefer the shorter slides, they seem to ride faster to me. This is also why I like 124 NATO type ammo in my 19.
I don't care about it. My state has open carry and I have 43 for states that don't. I'm just wearing a t-shirt over it, to hell with a print. Whatever.
Why do you only get shorter light? The extra speed will do you nothing w/ today's empty points. All you get from the 34 is a larger field of view - something you don't need if you go for the RDS.

I still felt that the G34 with the slower light would pull than the G19 with the same light.
The size of a G34 is the same size as a 1911. You are no crazier than the men who carry them. Maybe the light and rmr add a bit. But the gun itself is not crazy.
Buy quality carry gear and you can hide almost anything. In CCW my HK USP45 or my Glock 34 in Raven Phanton kydex holsters.
I'm still sad that they stopped making the phantom. That's what I have now and I have no idea what to replace it with. I have a concealed mag carrier that I had to remodel myself to make it work halfway, and I won't be giving them my business again if I can help it.

G34 is awesome just like the G17 I don't see any problem with the setup. Yes, the sight is useless with a red dot but if you have Surefire long lights why not. That has always been a sore spot for me with the Surefire WML they are just too long.
It can be done. This is my G34 rig w/ X300. Spare mag is a 24 round factory magazine in a DSG Koala carrier.
You and I are both men. I have one of the injection molded G19 holsters from Bravo for OWB and it's pretty good though.
Speaking of Phantom, I have a phantom G17 lying around. The RCS Perun is a much better holster.
What I've Learned After Carrying A Glock 19 For 4,992 Hours
Dang the things I miss. Well that's one more thing I have to buy before the boogaloo starts.
I might hide this time if I can find one that meets the preferences I want. I got a Kramer horse hide for my G43 with a matching stock carrier and it is NICE. I have no doubt that it will last.
3) These particles can cause injury when they shoot from a hold. With a comp, you only get hot gas in the face, not shrapnel.
4) Once you port it, you must replace the barrel if you no longer want it.
Glock 17/19 Conceal Carry Kydex Holster
I carry a G34 with a +2 mag extension almost every day in a Don Hume OWB leather holster. I never felt it was too big or too heavy. I usually wear a light button up shirt without a button up over it. I also carry 2 extra mags with +2 extension. I sometimes carry a G19. The G34 is my biggest competition handgun so it's only natural for me to carry the best and most comfortable thing with it.
Not crazy at all. 34 was my virgin concealment gun and it took me a long time to have an idea of successful concealment and before I applied x300Us to everything or the modified AIWB. It wasn't as hard with a 4:00 IWB. I think that first choice is why I never needed to carry small guns. I still carry a Roland or 34 with the x300u every day.
I bought a VELO holster for my 34 and have been carrying it for the past three weeks. I usually carried shorts and a tee without question. A great holster makes a lot of difference.
I carry a solid Glock 35 slide IWB (same size as a 34), which isn't much different than carrying a 1911 in length and height.
G34 & G19. Do You Prefer A Full Size Or A Compact?
I'm not saying a 34/35 is too big to carry but a 1911 is slim enough to make it much more comfortable even though they are the same length
Now I think about it too. I didn't like the 34's I shot before but considering my trigger time on a 19 vs a 34 it's not really fair. I also have an X300U so...
I shot my comped 19 back to back with my 34. The 34 is smoother. The 19 is faster, even with a comp, because of the load needed to make the comp useful.
Well that makes my decision easy now. Do you think even 34 would make a difference?
How To Choose A Ccw Handgun
For me longer slides like the 1911 and Glock 35 are more comfortable because they get the muzzle over my hips, weight is distributed along the length of the slide rather than the muzzle - that's what happens with the Glock 19/23/22 carried in Same. present
Also, the 34/35 slide is hinged at the top against the square slide corner of the Glock 17/22.
The only pistol that is so tolerable is the CBI strong side of my 1911 and my Glock 35.
All your arguments about double stack vs single stack are irrelevant because I don't have the ability to draw an IWB anyway. I got rid of that nonsense around the same time I traded my tight T-shirts for old man pocket Ts. It's OWB or nothing these days.
Ccw, Leather & Kydex Holsters, Duty Gear
In a striker fired gun ~4" is the longest barrel length I'm willing to deal with for concealed carry. In a Glock, a G19 is the longest grip I'm willing to deal with.
A full size 1911 is a different beast. Despite the weight they carry well as long as the holster/belt supports it properly. The shape of the 1911 is completely oval and relatively thin. Glock is a...block as they say.
I have several X300's but this is why I bought an XC1B for my Glock 19. It doesn't make sense to carry a compact pistol with a weapon light that adds to that length and range. The X300s live on my carbines and home defense pistols.
300 lumens is enough for CCW and carrying the gun is incredible. I honestly prefer the switch and beam pattern for a carry gun as well.
